HOW DO I BECOME AN MSF TRAINING PROVIDER THAT OFFERS MSF COURSES AND PROGRAMS TO THE PUBLIC?

  1. First, make sure you have:
    1. Contacted the State Motorcycle Program Coordinator, if you have one, for rules and requirements for motorcycle safety training providers. (To obtain contact information for your State Coordinator, CLICK HERE.)
      1. Military installations should contact the Military Motorcycle Program Coordinator for their branch. (To obtain contact information for your Military Coordinator or Representative, CLICK HERE.)
      2. International entities interested in becoming MSF training providers should email their request to rerp@msf-usa.org.
    2. Reviewed the rules and requirements for setting up a small business in your state or for your military branch.
  2. Apply to MSF for acceptance into the Rider Education Recognition Program (RERP). You’ll need:
    1. A currently active MSF RiderCoach or RiderCoach Trainer who can assist you with the process (the State or Military Coordinator may be able to recommend someone in your area.)
    2. A training range.
      1. A standard range requires a 160’ x 260’ area that is paved with asphalt or concrete and is free from hazards and obstacles.
      2. The riding area should be closed off from regular vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
    3. A classroom.
      1. The classroom should be clean, have enough space for participant comfort, have capability for use of modern audio visual and other electronic instructional equipment.
      2. Restroom facilities should be nearby and, ideally, the classroom should be near the range.
      3. A private residence cannot serve as a classroom.
    4. Secure storage for training motorcycles and course equipment.
    5. Insurance.
      1. Coverage for students, motorcycles, RiderCoaches, all other site personnel and MSF is required.
      2. Training Providers may purchase an MSF RiderCourse Insurance Plan or obtain comparable insurance independently.
  3. If my state does not have a designated Motorcycle Program Coordinator (or Military Coordinator) who can I contact for more information?
    1. Send an email to rerp@msf-usa.org.
