Basic RiderCourse

This 5-minute video is a capsule summary of what you’ll experience in our hands-on, 15 hour, Basic RiderCourse training program. Five hours of classroom instruction prepare you for ten hours of practical riding in a controlled, off-street environment, under the guidance of MSF-certified RiderCoaches.

Street RiderCourse 1

Take a look at the MSF’s newest hands-on training curriculum, Street RiderCourse 1, beta-tested early in 2010. The 5-hr. course is designed to be the ideal first street experience for newly licensed riders. This 9-min. video was intended only for MSF research, but we’re showing it to demonstrate several key aspects of the course.

OCTOA Motor Rodeo 2009

Highlights from the Orange County Traffic Officer’s Association 37th annual Motor Rodeo in Huntington Beach. The Top Gun contest is a follow-the-leader police motorcycle riding competition which tests participants’ strategy and finesse. There’s no set route – one rider follows the other, each trying to get the other to hit a cone or put a foot down.

Get Your Head Into It

The first United Nations World Youth Assembly for Road Safety was held in Geneva, Switzerland in April 2007. The Motorcycle Industry Council was asked to provide information on helmet use, and in consultation with Motorcycle Safety Foundation produced this 5-minute video for the Assembly.

Pretend You Are Invisible

Ken Glaser, MSF’s director of special projects, said “If you assume others on the road can’t see you on a motorcycle, you will tend to ride in a hyper-aware mindset and notice much more detail in your surroundings. Pretending you cannot be seen by others will help you take the initiative to ride more responsibly and defensively.”

MSF Advanced RiderCourse with Infinite Hero Foundation

Working with the Infinite Hero Foundation, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation hosted an Advanced RiderCourse for a group of veterans and one active member of our nation’s military. The MSF looks forward to more days like this and encourages veteran and military riders to be leaders in promoting safe riding among all motorcyclists. Take a Look

A one-minute promo for the MSF DirtBike School. This affordable, one-day, entry-level course is a great way to get a first taste of motorcycling. It’s an excellent start for off-road riders and every member of the family from age 6 to 106. Street riders, new and experienced, can benefit from DirtBike School too.

Intersection

This 4-minute edit of the video in the Intersection Module features personal stories surrounding the collision between a car and motorcycle at a typical city intersection.

Common Road

This 3-minute edit of the video in the MSF Cars, Motorcycles & A Common Road Kit (discontinued) helps car drivers share the road safely with motorcyclists. Drivers will learn the “two-second” rule for following a motorcyclist, and common places where motorists and motorcyclists collide.

All car drivers, especially teens, will benefit from this safety awareness message. In this era of rampant distracted driving, the encouragement to “look twice” can help prevent car drivers from inadvertently violating the right-of-way of motorcyclists, pedestrians, and other cars.
